A poem about bitterness

How strange the world would be if we all said the truths

on our minds. Broken people breaking the silence of chapped lips

and weak tongues; whole people shattering under

condemnation. How wonderful the relief of calling out

faults in humans we pretend to know everything about, catching the

tears of enemies whose grudges care not what is said in

battle. But if given the chance to repeat your actions

and whisper curses in your bruised ear, I wouldn’t know

where to find the courage.
